Part of the Armidale City Bowling Club's commitment to fostering and developing bowls in the Armidale community has been the formulation of a Bowls Development Committee.


The committee’s role is to develop a strategy that will aid in actively encouraging schools and individuals to participate in the sport of bowls. By increasing participation levels our goal is to secure the longevity of the sport in the local community, as well as, educate the public of the healthy lifestyle and social benefits of the game.

Weekly Bowls Notice 9 June – 2025 Social Bowls on Wednesday 4 June, we had 12 players. Winners were Des Schuman, Paul Clarke, Victor Ng. Runners up were Elfie Brunner, Laurie Judd, John Waters. Social Bowls played every Monday and Wednesday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666. Due to the very cold weather conditions, social bowls was unable to be played on Monday. The Open Triples – Major Minor carnival will be held this Saturday 14 June. Total Prizemoney is $2700. Entry Fee is $90 per team which includes a light BBQ Lunch. Bowlers lunch to be held in the Dangarsleigh Room. Please see Rosie Fuller for more information. Social Bowls held today, we had 16 players. Winners were John Lankester, Victor Ng. Runners up were Campbell Schubert, Gary Jackson. Social Bowls played every Monday and Wednesday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666. **Social Bowls on Monday Kings Birthday Holiday.** Results from games played over the weekend. Open Singles. Gavin Latham defeated Lindsay McIntyre 25-23. Another great game from the bowlers. Dale Smith defeated John Waters 25-18. Sammi Robinson defeated Lee Robinson 25-19. Minor Singles. Paul Wadleigh defeated Chris Moy 31-27 in another great game of bowls. Major Fours. Andrew Carey (sub), Mark Carey, Graham Bourke, Gavin Latham defeated Duncan McLean, Scott Froome, Paul Bullen, Mick Pennell 27-18. Minor Triples. Des Schuman, Reg Battersby, Gary Jackson defeated Elsie Clark and Laurie Williams 21-16. Unfortunately, Elsie and Laurie had to play 1 player short. A fantastic effort from Elsie and Laurie. Congratulations to Tom Inman, Steve Fuller, Todd Fuller who won their preliminary rounds in BPL Cup at South Tamworth on Sunday. They now progress to the Regional Play offs to be held sometime in September. No Bowls this weekend due to the long weekend.
