Weekly Bowls Notice 27 November, 2023

Monday Social Bowls we had 11 players. Winners were Joe Lankester, Michelle Babich, Ken House. Runners up were Joe Lankester, Ian Constantine, Des Schuman.  Social Bowls played every Monday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

Results from the Major Minor Triples Carnival held on Sunday. Congratulations to the winning team of Paul Bullen, Rosie Fuller and Tom Inman, 3 wins + 58. This is the second year in a row they have won this carnival. 2nd place - Peter Doyle, Terry Ogilvie, Gavin Latham, 3 wins + 55. 3rd place – Chris Brodbeck, David McMillan, Terry McMillan, 2 wins + 48. 4th place – Graham Bourke, Cahill McIntyre, Lindsay McIntyre, 2 wins + 45. 5th place – Steve Fuller, Chris Moy, Todd Fuller, 2 wins + 44. 6th place – Robert Rees, Joel Skinner, Dennis Williams, 2 wins + 41. Round Winners – Round 1, Dave Wilcox’s team. Round 2, Matt Fletcher’s team and Round 3, Marj South’s team. Games set down for this weekend. Saturday 2 December. Minor Fours. 10am start. Helen Alexander, Kevin Cundy, Marj South, Rosie Fuller play Bruce Wadleigh, Torsten Vestergaard, Michael Coombes, Ross Strahle.

Games set down the following weekend. Saturday 9 December, 10am start. Minor Singles. Andrew Carey plays Scott Froome, marker Chris Moy. Sunday 10 December, 10am start. Major Singles. Todd Fuller plays Brodie Dexter, marker Mark Carey. On a cold wintery night, we had 10 bowlers turn up for Twilight Bowls. Winners were Torsten Vestergaard, Brad White, Richard Kembrey. Runners up were Lee Marshall and Paul Wadleigh. Twilight Bowls on Thursday nights, starting at 6pm. The cost per person will be $5. Names to be in by 5.30pm by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

There will be Winner and Runner up prizes each week. Winner(s) will receive 3pts, Runner(s)-up receive 2pts and 1pt for participation. On the last night of Twilight Bowls, winner and runner up with the most points will receive a Ham each.

A random participation prize will also be drawn from non-winners on the night. Nominations for the Club’s Open Mixed Fours are now on the noticeboard. Entries close 21st January, 2024. A reminder to all bowlers that it will cost you $5 per event that you have entered in the Club Championships, payable to the Games Manager, Rosie Fuller on the day of play.
