Weekly Bowls Notice 20 November, 2023

Due to the lovely rain, there were no Social Bowls played.  Social Bowls played every Monday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

Results from last weekend’s games. Major Singles. Gavin Latham defeated Dale Smith 25-12. Major Pairs. Peter Doyle, Steve Fuller defeated Laurie Williams, Richard Kembrey 24-17 in hard fought game. Minor Triples. Helen Alexander, Rosie Fuller, Marj South defeated Bruce Wadleigh, Kevin Luxford, Michael Coombes 29-16. No Games have been set down this weekend due to our Major Minor Open Triples Carnival to be held on Sunday 26 November. Another good turn out for Twilight Bowls with 18 bowlers. Winners Ian Constantine, Michelle Babich, Paul Wadleigh with runners up Bibek Giri, Ken House, Terry Ogilvie. Closest to the Jack winner was Lee Marshall winning a $10 Club voucher. Twilight Bowls on Thursday nights, starting at 6pm.

The cost per person will be $5. Names to be in by 5.30pm by phoning the club on 6772 5666. There will be Winner and Runner up prizes each week. Winner(s) will receive 3pts, Runner(s)-up receive 2pts and 1pt for participation. On the last night of Twilight Bowls, winner and runner up with the most points will receive a Ham each. A random participation prize will also be drawn from non-winners on the night.

We are still looking for entries in the Major Minor Open Triples Carnival to be held on Sunday 26 November, closing date for nominations has been extended to Thursday, 23 November. Nominations for the Club’s Open Mixed Fours are now on the noticeboard. Entries close 21st January, 2024. A reminder to all bowlers that it will cost you $5 per event that you have entered in the Club Championships, payable to the Games Manager, Rosie Fuller on the day of play.
