Weekly Bowls Notice 23 October, 2023

Monday Social Bowls we had 16 bowlers. Winners were Chris Beckwith, Jay Diaz from Kangaroo Island. Runners up were Judy Hoenger, Pam McFayden. Social Bowls played every Monday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

Results from games played over the weekend. Minor Singles. Andrew Carey defeated Michael Coombes 31-23. Results from the Zone 3 State Fours Championships Finals.

Congratulations to P Doyle, G Bourke, T McMillan, G Latham winning their final against G Hall, T Preston, G Nicholls, G Harris from South Tamworth 24 – 19. Gavin’s team now head to the State Finals in March 2024 to be held in Dubbo.   Unfortunate for P Bullen, I Jones (sub), S Fuller, T Fuller to lose against D Hungerford, B Grebert, A McCosker, M McCosker 23 – 18 from Inverell RSM Club, they also head off to State Finals to be held in Dubbo.

Unfortunate for the team of R Fuller, M Turner, D Smith, B Dade not to get through to the finals. The team from Uralla Bowling Club ended up winning the final in the Open Reserve Fours to progress to the State Final to be held in Dubbo next March.

Results from the Armidale City Women’s Bowling Club. Versatility Triples held on 22nd September. Winners were Judy Carey, Margaret Hann, Marj South. Versatility Singles played on 29th September.

Congratulations to Margaret Hann on winning this event. Versatility Pairs played on 3rd October. Winners were Judy Carey, Marj South.

Another fantastic turn-up for Twilight Bowls on Thursday, we had 18 bowlers participate. Winners were Michelle Babich, Richard Kembrey.

Runners up were Ken House, Chris Moy. Twilight Bowls on Thursday nights, starting at 6pm. The cost per person will be $5. Names to be in by 5.30pm by phoning the club on 6772 5666. There will be Winner and Runner up prizes.

Games set down for this weekend. Saturday 28 October, 10am start. Major Tripes. Scott Froome, Paul Bullen, Graham Bourke play Brad Dade, Richard Kembrey, Brodie Dexter. Sunday 29 October, 11am start. Open Singles. Steve Fuller plays Gavin Latham, marker Bill Dexter. Major Singles. Tom Inman plays Laurie Williams, marker Terry McMillan.

If you are interested in the Club’s Mixed Pairs, please put your name down on the Nomination Sheet posted on the Noticeboard. Nominations close Monday 30 October, 2023. Entry forms are now available for the Major Minor Open Triples Carnival to be held on Sunday 26 November. The Armidale City Bowling Club will be hosting “Get on the Green Day" Sunday 29 October at 1.30pm. All equipment is provided, $2.50 social membership is required, Flat Sole shoes to be worn.
