Weekly Bowls Notice 18 September, 2023

Monday Social Bowls we had 11 players. Winners were Ken House, Marj South and John Lankester. Runners up were Des Schuman, Di Richter and Campbell Schubert.

 Social Bowls played every Monday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

Results of games played over the weekend. Major Singles. Laurie Williams defeated Malcolm Turner 25-20. Both bowlers played well and a terrific game to watch. Major Singles. Todd Fuller defeated Peter Doyle 25-24. Peter led 15-5 after 15 ends, then after 24 ends, Peter was still leading 20-15. It was 24 all on end 32, with Todd picking up 1 shot to win the game. This game was fantastic to watch, spectators were on the edge of their seats.

Unlucky to Peter to go down by 1 shot in the end.

Games set down for Sunday 24 September, 1pm start. Open Singles. Tom Inman plays Paul Clarke marker Peter Doyle. Minor Pairs. Brian Charter, Chris Moy play Michael Coombes, Paul Wadleigh.

The Armidale City Bowling Club will hold its AGM this Sunday, 24 September in the TOPS function room commencing at 10am.

 Best of luck to all the bowlers bowling in the Zone Fours State Championships this weekend at various venues across the Zone. 

If you are interested in the Club’s Mixed Pairs, please put your name down on the Nomination Sheet posted on the Noticeboard.

Nominations close Monday 30 October, 2023. Entry forms are now available for the Major Minor Open Triples Carnival to be held on Sunday 26 November. The Armidale City Bowling Club will be hosting “Get on the Green Days”. Sunday 22 October at 10am and Sunday 29 October at 1.30pm. All equipment is provided, $2.50 social membership is required, Flat Sole shoes to be worn. Come on down and try a game of bowls.
