Weekly Bowls Notice 11 September, 2023

 

 

Monday Social Bowls we had 12 players. Winners were John Waters and John Leah. Runners up were Marj South and John Lankester.


Social Bowls played every Monday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666.


Results of our Versatility Fours Carnival held over the weekend.

1st Place – Victor Ng, Torsten Vestergaard, Marj South and Di Richter.

2nd place – Peter Doyle, Richard Kembrey, Terry Ogilvie and Brian Charter.

3rd place – Matt Jarrett, Robert Rees, Robert Richards and Bob Grange, all from Glen Innes. 4th place – Paul Bullen, Lindsay McIntyre, Andrew Carey and Cahill McIntyre.


Congratulations to all of those teams and a big thank you to all involved in helping make this carnival a success.


Best of luck to Paul Bullen who heads off to the Zone 3 Men’s Finals, to be played in Gunnedah this coming weekend.


 Games set down for this weekend, Major Singles. Peter Doyle plays Todd Fuller, marker Steve Fuller. Major Singles. Laurie Williams plays Malcolm Turner, marker Kyle Brodbeck.


 Nominations are now open for the 2023 – 2024 Bowls NSW Championships – Zone 3 in the Open Reserve Fours, Men’s Senior Fours and Men’s State Fours. Sectional play to be held 23-24 September with Finals on 21-22 October to be played at South Tamworth Bowling Club. Entries close Sunday 17 September on Bowlslink.


If you are interested in the Club’s Mixed Pairs, please put your name down on the Nomination Sheet posted on the Noticeboard.

Nominations close Monday 30 October, 2023.


 There are still some bowlers who haven’t paid their fees yet, can you please do so as soon as possible, as you are not allowed to bowl in any club games, Zone or State games.


 A reminder to all bowlers that it will cost you $5 per event that you have entered in the Club Championships, payable to the Acting Games Manager, Rosie Fuller on the day of play.
