Weekly Bowls Notice 17 June, 2024

Social Bowls today we had 11 bowlers, played in very cold conditions. Winners were Benny Wilson, Marj South and John Waters. Runners up were Joe Lankester, Campbell Schubert and Des Schuman. Social Bowls played every Monday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

Results of games played last week. Mixed Fours. J Hoenger, M South, M Macgregor and G Bourke defeated H Alexander, M Turner, T Ogilvie and R Kembrey 23-10.

The Club held its annual Major/Minor Triples Carnival on Saturday. Congratulations to the following winners playing in very cold conditions at times. 1^st place goes to D McMillan, K Brodbeck and T McMillan, 3wins + 54, count back of 31-25. 2^nd place, J Waters, B Grange and M Jarrett, 3wins + 54, count back of 25-31. 3^rd place, G Baxter, S Lees and D Flemming, 2 wins 1 draw. 4^th place, P Bullen, R Fuller, T Inman, 2 wins 1 loss. 5^th place, B Dade, M Fletcher, S Fuller, 2 wins 1 loss. 6^th place, P Wadleigh, A Carey, G Bourke, 2 wins 1 loss. Round winners were H Alexander, P McFayden, M South for Rnd 1. J O’Neil, P Johnson, D Wilcox for Rnd 2. P Wadleigh, T Ogilvie, G Latham for Rnd 3.

Nominations are now on the noticeboard for the 2024/2025 Club Championship bowls season, closing date is 30 June.

 Men’s Regional Fours closing date is Monday 24 June. Women’s Regional Fours and Senior Fours, closing date Monday 24 June. Entries are now open for State, Senior and Reserve Triples, this includes Men’s Triples, Women’s Triples, Senior Men’s Triples, Senior Women’s Triples and Open Reserve Triples. Entries close 1 July.

A reminder to all bowlers that it will cost you $5 per event that you have entered in the Club Championships, payable to the Games Manager, Rosie Fuller on the day of play. There are quite a few bowlers who haven’t paid their money yet, please do so as soon as possible.
