Weekly Bowls Notice 24 June, 2024

Social Bowls today we had 15 bowlers, played on such a lovely day. Winners were Victor Ng and Paul Clarke. Runners up were Judy Hoenger, Campbell Schubert and Des Schuman. Social Bowls played every Monday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

Results of games played over the weekend:

Major Triples: Chris Brodbeck, Gavin Latham and Terry McMillan defeated Scott Froome, Paul Bullen and Graham Bourke 31-18.

Open Singles: Todd Fuller defeated Tom Inman 25-14.

Congratulations to the team of Helen Alexander, Rosie Fuller and Marj South winning the Club’s Minor Triples. They defeated Claude McFayden, Brad White, Victor Ng 26-20.

Grade 2 State Pennant Finals are being played at South Tamworth Bowling Club this coming weekend, best wishes to the following teams representing their Club and their Zone at the Championships. Brade Dade, Chris Moy, Terry McMillan, Paul Bullen. Sammi Robinson, Mark Carey, Tom Inman, Steve Fuller. Graham Bourke, Vicky Latham, Lindsay McIntyre, Gavin Latham and Reserve Kyle Brodbeck. There are no games set down for this coming weekend, due to the State Pennant Finals. Hopefully these teams will have a few supporters cheering them on. Nominations are now on the noticeboard for the 2024/2025 Club Championship bowls season, closing date is 30 June.  

Bowls Membership Renewals are now due, $125 for the next 12 months. Entries are now open for State, Senior and Reserve Triples, this includes Men’s Triples, Women’s Triples, Senior Men’s Triples, Senior Women’s Triples and Open Reserve Triples. Entries close 1 July. A reminder to all bowlers that it will cost you $5 per event that you have entered in the Club Championships, payable to the Games Manager, Rosie Fuller on the day of play. There are quite a few bowlers who haven’t paid their money yet, please do so as soon as possible.
