Weekly Bowls Notice 27 October – 2025


Social bowls Wednesday 22 October, we had 10 players. Winners were Marj South, Des Schuman. Runners up were Reg Battersby, Ken House, John Waters. Monday 27 October social bowls, we had 6 players. Winners were Judy Hoenger, Ken House, Paul Clarke. Runners up were Campbell Schubert, Des Schuman, John Waters. Social Bowls played every Monday and Wednesday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

 

Results from games played over the weekend: Open Singles. Victor Ng defeated Col Holden 25-16. Brad Dade defeated Marj South 25-9. Major Singles. Gavin Latham defeated Matt Fletcher 25-22 in a very thrilling game.


The travelling bowlers from East Maitland had a terrific time here at the Club and taking in the attractions around the town. A big thank you to those bowlers who put their names down to play on Friday and Saturday afternoon. A fun time was had by all.


The following games have been set down for this coming weekend.


Saturday 1 November – 9.30am start

Major Singles. Graham Bourke plays Lindsay McIntyre, marker Duncan McLean. Paul Wadleigh plays Mal Ahoy, marker Dale Smith.


Sunday 2 November – 9.30am start

Minor Singles. Des Schuman plays Laurie Williams, marker Bruce Wadleigh. Andrew Carey plays Ken House, marker Cahill McIntyre.


Good luck to the following bowlers who are representing the club in the State Mixed Pairs being held in Bingara this weekend. Lee Robinson, Matt Fletcher, Sammi Robinson, Steve Fuller, Rosie Fuller and Todd Fuller.


Expressions of Interest are now open for the North West Inter-Region Sides Selection Trials in Open Women’s, Open Men’s & Senior Men’s. Closing date is Monday 3 November 2025. More information is posted next to this notice.

Helen Alexander and Marj South are rostered on for Friday night’s 100 Club raffle.


We have some travelling bowlers visiting from Cardiff from 14 – 16 November. They are looking forward to visiting our Club and playing some bowls. Bowls will be Saturday afternoon around 1pm and Sunday morning around 9.30am.  25 -28 men will be visiting. Please place your name on the list, if you would like to compete with these bowlers.


Open Pennants 2025-2026 will start in February 2026 and it will run for 6 weeks up until 28/29 March. If you would like to represent the Armidale City Bowling Club this season, please add your name to the sheet on the Noticeboard. Nominations will close on 10 November.


A Bowls Noticeboard has been put up on the wall where the Juke Box used to be. All Bowls Draws and information will be placed on this board. Please ensure you come into the Club and check this noticeboard regularly to see when you are set down to play/mark. Game Cards can be collected from this noticeboard. All Bowls draws and information will also be kept in a folder at Reception. Information is also available on the Club’s website, Facebook page or by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

There is no longer an unavailability book.

If you plan on being away, it is your responsibility to let the Games Manager know. The Games Manager will need to know at least 2 weeks in advance.

If you are going to be away for an extended amount of time, you will need to get a sub or forfeit.

Club games will take precedence over Carnivals, unless plenty of notice has been given to the Games Manager.
