Weekly Bowls Notice 21 July – 2025

Social Bowls Wednesday 2 July we had 16 players. Winners were Laurie Judd, Paul Clarke, Judy Hoenger. Runners up were Reg Battersby, Joe Lankester, Elfie Brunner. Social Bowls Wednesday 9 July we had 10 players. Winners were Joe Lankester, Reg Battersby, Laurie Judd. Runners up were Judy Hoenger, Paul Clarke. Social Bowls held Monday 14 July we had 14 players. Winners were John Lankester, Paul Clarke, Victor Ng. Runners up were Judy Hoenger, Laurie Judd. Social Bowls held Monday 21 July we had 16 players. Winners were Di Richter, Geoff Monley. Runners up were Joe Lankester, Elfie Brunner. Social Bowls played every Monday and Wednesday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666.

Results from games played Saturday 12 July: State Senior Singles. Steve Fuller was defeated by Dave Morgan from Inverell 25-24. State Senior Women’s Singles. Kerry Fittler (Tamworth City) defeated Sharon King (Inverell Sporties) 26-17.  Minor Pairs Semi Final. Cahill McIntyre, Andrew Carey defeated Col Holden, Adrian Whitton 25-23. Results from games played on Saturday 19 July: Major-Minor Pairs Boxed. Paul Wadleigh, Peter Robinson defeated Des Schuman, Lindsay McIntyre 14-12. Andrew Carey, Gavin Latham defeated Brian Charter, Paul Clarke 26-7. Mixed Pairs. Sammi Robinson, Matt Fletcher defeated Claude McFayden, Pam McFayden 25-10. Congratulations to Todd Fuller on winning his section in the Men’s State Singles over the weekend. Todd will now compete in the play offs to be held at Lightning Ridge at the end of August.

Schedule of upcoming games: Saturday 2 August – 9.30am start.  Open Singles. Dale Smith plays Todd Fuller, marker Matt Fletcher. Saturday 2 August – 1.00pm start. Open Singles. Steve Fuller plays Winner of TBD, marker is loser of Dale Smith/Todd Fuller game. Sunday 3 August – 9.30am start. Open Singles Final. Winner TBD plays Matt Fletcher, marker is loser of Steve Fuller/TBD game.

Nominations for the 2025/2026 Club Championships will remain open until Wednesday 30 July. Nomination forms are posted on the temporary wall near the bar.

Bowls Fees are now due and must be paid by 31 July, 2025. You must be financial to enter North West Championships / State Championships.

Bowls Presentation Day – has been postponed. New date to be advised.

Cahill McIntyre and Kevin Cundy are rostered on for Friday night’s 100 Club raffle.

Armidale City will be hosting the North West Championships in Men’s Senior Pairs and Women’s Senior Pairs on 26 and 27 July. Best of luck to the following players representing our Club. Laurie Judd, Peter Doyle. Graham Bourke, Gavin Latham and Rosie Fuller, Marj South. 

North West Bowls will be having their AGM on Saturday 9 August commencing at 10am at Barraba Bowling Club.

Due to renovations, we no longer have a Bowls information area. Weekly Bowls Notice and Draw(s) will be placed on the temporary wall close to the Bar. All Bowls draws and information will also be kept in a folder at Reception. Please ensure you come into the Club and check this folder regularly to see when you are set down to play/mark. Information is also available on the Club’s website and Facebook page.
