Weekly Bowls Notice 22 July, 2024

Social Bowls played today we had 16 players turn up on a beautiful sunny day. Winners were Matt Fletcher, Claude McFayden, Elfie Brunner. Runners up were Joe Lankester, Brad White, Pam McFayden. Social Bowls played every Monday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666. Results from games played over the weekend.

Congratulations to the team of Todd Fuller, Terry Ogilvie, Tom Inman and Steve Fuller defeating Vicky Latham, Scott Froome, Lindsay McIntyre, Peter Doyle 22-5 in the Major Fours Final.

Congratulations to the team of Brian Charter, Paul Wadleigh, Terry Ogilvie, Andrew Carey defeating Helen Alexander, Kevin Cundy, Marj South and Rosie Fuller 24-14 in the Minor Fours Final.

Best of luck to Paul Bullen, Lindsay McIntyre, Steve Fuller, Todd Fuller who are playing in the North West Regional Fours Finals to be held at West Tamworth on Saturday 27 July. Best of luck to the following teams of Tom Inman, Steve Fuller, Todd Fuller. Peter Doyle, Lindsay McIntyre, Paul Bullen who are playing in the North West Regional Triples Finals to be held at South Tamworth on Sunday 28 July.

Lee Robinson (sub), Terry Ogilvie play Vicky Latham, Gavin Latham. Nominations are now on the noticeboard for the 2024/2025 Club Championship bowls season, closing date has been extended to 31 July, 2024.

Entries are now open for the State Championship Pairs for Men’s Pairs, Women’s Pairs, Senior Men’s Pairs, Senior Women’s Pairs and Open Reserve Pairs. Entries close 12 August 2024. Entries must be placed into Bowslink with payment to secure entry. Entry forms for the Versatility Fours Carnival to be held 7 and 8 September, are now available. Entries close 1 September and is limited to the first 16 teams. Entry forms for the Richie Clutterbuck Memorial Open Pairs Carnival to be held 12 and 13 October, are now available. Entries close 6 October and is limited to the first 32 entries. Entry forms for both of these carnivals are on the noticeboard inside the Bowls cupboard or at reception.

Bowls Membership Renewals are now due, $125 for the next 12 months and must be paid by 31 July. A reminder to all bowlers that it will cost you $5 per event that you have entered in the Club Championships, payable to the Games Manager, Rosie Fuller on the day of play. There are quite a few bowlers who haven’t paid their money yet, please do so as soon as possible.
