Weekly Bowls Notice 19 August, 2024

Social Bowls played today we had 13 bowlers turn up on a beautiful day. Winners were Victor Ng and Mal Turner. Runners up were Des Schuman, Elfie Brunner, Helen Alexander. Social Bowls played every Monday and Wednesday, names in by 12.30pm for a 12.45pm start by phoning the club on 6772 5666. All bowlers please note the Welcome BBQ is Saturday 31 August at 12.00noon in the BBQ area. Invitations have been sent via email or text message to your phone. Results from games played over the weekend. Mixed Pairs. Margaret Macgregor, Graham Bourke defeated Helen Alexander, Andrew Carey (sub) 24-11. Results from the BPL Competition held on Sunday. Winner of section 1 was the team of Tom Inman, Steve Fuller, Todd Fuller. Winner of section 2 was the team of R Thomas, R Rees, Matt Jarrett from Glen Innes. Winner of section 3 was the team of Rosie Fuller, Brad Dade, Matt Fletcher.

Congratulations to all winners, they now play in Regional Finals at South Tamworth on Sunday 15 September. No Games will be set down this coming weekend due to bowlers being away playing in the North West Regional Pairs. Entry forms for the Versatility Fours Carnival to be held 7 and 8 September, are now available. Entries close 1 September and is limited to the first 16 teams. Entry forms for the Richie Clutterbuck Memorial Open Pairs Carnival to be held 12 and 13 October, are now available. Entries close 6 October and is limited to the first 32 entries. Entry forms for these carnivals are on the noticeboard inside the Bowls cupboard or at reception.

  A reminder to all bowlers that it will cost you $5 per event that you have entered in the Club Championships, payable to the Games Manager, Rosie Fuller on the day of play. There are quite a few bowlers who haven’t paid their money yet, please do so as soon as possible.
